2014 Dogfish Head Intergalatic Bocce Tournament

The annual Dogfish Head Intergalatic Bocce tournament was graced this year by a new product which caught they eye of many. 

"The event went really well and a lot of people had a lot of fun," said Alex Gara, Wicker Park Bocce Club and organisers of the tournament. "We always set out to make this event fun and each year it gets bigger and bigger. In the past it was a logistic challenge to cater for the increase in teams but now with the new inflatable bocce courts [Packabocce from Packaworld] means we can scale the event without too much additional effort and of course play almost anywhere." 

"When some people think of bocce, they think of older Italian men smoking cigars and playing one game after another in the park. And while those men haven’t stopped their games a younger generation are starting to take up the sport whether it be socially or competitively," said Packaworld Head, Pete Roberts. "Bocce caters for all ages, genders and playing abilities and is fast becoming a popular game for adults in their 20’s and 30’s at parties, vacations and especially bars.
