International beach water polo tournament returns with a splash in Dubai

An international beach water polo tournament in the United Arab Emirates has been making waves in the Middle East with Packaworld’s portable fields and goals.

The third International Beach Water Polo Tournament was held on 11 and 12 December in Dubai, hosted by The Dubai Camels Water Polo Club. 

Teams from across the Middle East, Europe and Central Asia travelled to the city to take part in an event that is as much about raising awareness of the game as it is about competition.

The annual tournament is held at the luxurious Breeze Bar and Grill on Palm Jumeirah – an artificial island shaped like a palm tree.

It has come a long way since the small six-team event held in 2019, and Packaworld’s Portable Water Polo Fields, Packagoals and Packanets have been in use since its inception.

Packaworld Chief Executive Peter Roberts said he was delighted to see the continued growth of beach water polo in the Middle East.

“It’s remarkable to see how far beach water polo has come in just a few years and always satisfying to know our Packaworld products are in the thick of the action,” Roberts said. 

The Dubai Camels Water Polo Club attracts players from all around the world, made up of men and women of around 30 nationalities.
