The national Special Olympics Singapore Bocce Competition hadn’t been held since the Covid-19 pandemic, so re-invigorating it was a significant milestone, he said.
“The event was successfully concluded, thanks to the athletes, volunteers, officials and staff of Special Olympics Singapore. “I must also thank Packaworld for the timely delivery of the inflatable bocce courts for our competition. We have received rave reviews from the different stakeholders about the courts.” Special Olympics Singapore had previously staged competitions using courts made of PVC pipes, which had to be transported on a trailer, sorted, and assembled. In contrast, the new inflatable Packabocce courts can be packed down into a bag, easily transported in the back of a small car, and set up much more quickly. Packaworld Chief Executive Peter Roberts said Special Olympics Singapore’s use of Packabocce courts demonstrated its commitment to providing high-quality facilities for athletes with intellectual disabilities. "The event highlights the potential for bocce to grow even further in Singapore and we hope the versatility of our portable Packabocce courts will create further opportunities to bring the joy of sport to more communities across the country.” To see the athletes in action at the Special Olympics Singapore Bocce Competition 2024, watch Special Olympics Singapore’s wrap up video, below.
