Portable Water Polo back net

The Challenge

The increased popularity of outdoor water polo introduces a number of new challenges playing water polo in open seas and areas where weather conditions can be a bit rougher than those of indoor facilities:

• higher currents and waves collapse field surrounds
• balls get swept out to sea and lost with wayward shots.

Organisers were worried that adverse weather conditions disrupt playing schedules, and in worst cases cause competitions to be abandoned. In addition, the loss of balls being swept out to sea and unrecoverable was proving expensive. 

As a result, solutions were explored for a non-permanent, portable supporting truss and back net system that was easy to transport, set-up and store.

The Solution

The solution - Water Polo Packanet, a portable, storable, professional-looking inflatable back net and truss that provides more structure for water polo fields. Set up and packed away in minutes the Packanet takes up very little storage space and is easy to transport.
