What are Rugby Packaposts ?
Rugby Packaposts are inflatable, portable rugby posts that can be set up in minutes and packed away and stored in a bag. They are specially designed to help players and clubs bring the game of rugby to anywhere there is a flat surface.
What were Rugby Packaposts designed for ?
Rugby Packaposts were designed to set up temporary areas of play and provide a quick and easy way to play in areas with few established rugby facilities. They are intended to be pumped up when needed, and deflated and packed away after use, making them an ideal choice for clubs wanting to set up temporary training fields. They also provide developing rugby nations, with few established rugby facilities and a way to introduce new communities and players to the sport.
Rugby Packaposts are also used in the new sport of visually impaired (VI) rugby. Portable, inflatable rugby posts reduce the danger of collision with the posts for players with visual impairments and enable conversions and kicking on the smaller fields visually impaired rugby is played on.

Why are there different sizes ?
Packaworld has produced two different full size Rugby Packaposts.
- Our Blind Rugby Packaposts have been developed with a 2.5-metre crossbar for blind rugby due to the sport’s requirements for a lower crossbar. These posts were developed to support competitive blind rugby matches.
- Our Full-size Rugby Packaposts have been developed with a 3-metre crossbar to meet World Rugby size specifications for rugby union and rugby 7s. These posts were developed as a training aid to simulate real-game conditions.
What should Rugby Packaposts be used for ?
Rugby Packaposts were originally developed to support the new sport of blind rugby. They can also be used for rugby introductory sessions and as a training aid to simulate real game situations.
Blind Rugby Packaposts (2.5m crossbar) were designed for the sport of blind rugby, which is played on a smaller field than conventional rugby union and requires inflatable posts for safety, and portable posts to set up on the smaller field size.
Full-size Rugby Packaposts (3m crossbar) were developed as a valuable asset for training and simulating real game conditions.
Note: Packaworld products are temporary structures, designed to be pumped up when needed and then deflated and packed away after use. They are not intended to be left outdoors as permanent fixtures or for long periods of time. Over extended periods of time, the inflatable frames will require ‘topping up’ with the pump supplied. Rugby Packaposts are designed to be used anywhere there is a flat surface. They can be used on grass, artificial turf or other surfaces without damage to fields and pitches.
What are Rugby Packaposts made of ?
Packaposts comprise of two parts:
Uprights (x2)
Uprights are composed of heavy-duty thermoplastic with triangular supports for stability.
The high-pressure hose provides a rigid and stable structure that supports the crossbar when inflated.
Crossbar (x1)
The crossbar is composed of three aluminium sections. The three sections clip together to form a 5.6-metre long crossbar when connected. The aluminium crossbar is encased in high-density foam rubber for a safer playing experience.

What happens if it’s windy ?
If fully inflated, Packaposts should withstand winds between 13 to 18 mph (Moderate Winds*) - lower end of the scale for side on winds. Higher winds will cause instability and can cause the posts to collapse. In extreme winds, guy ropes should be used on the uprights which will provide additional support and stability. See instructions here to see how
